A Prayer for today: Making Our House a Home
Lord, a home at last. I am so grateful for this new place. Help me create a loving home that reflects our family’s personalities and tastes and is pleasing to you. Guard us from overspending as we furnish and decorate it. Stir up the gift of hospitality in me that I may serve well my family and any guests. May ours be a home of comfort, healing, friendship, rest and encouragement. May we enjoy fun and memorable celebrations. May it be a shelter of safety and peace. Lord, please station your holy angels about it to keep evil forces away. I pray that the Holy Spirit will be an ever- present Guest in our home. I ask this in the name of our Jesus my Savior, Amen.
“The Lord blesses the home of the righteous” (Proverbs 3:33b). “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” (Isaiah 32:18).
