Golden Age Declaration

The following is a declaration I wrote for women transitioning into their more advanced season
of life taken from Warfare Prayers For Women which I co-authored with Ruthanne Garlock.

I declare with God’s help, I am transitioning well into my latter season of life. I will not give in
to despair and isolation. I will fight the good fight, keep the faith and finish my race well.

Loneliness will no longer keep me focused on my own needs; I’m determined to begin reaching
out to others. I will be available to mentor and encourage younger women, sharing from some of
my own experiences in both practical and spiritual ways.

I declare that I will spend more time communicating with my heavenly Father and praying more fervently for my family, friends and nation.

I give great thanks that Jesus has prepared a place for me when he calls me to leave this
earth. With joy I look forward to spending eternity with Him and with those who have gone on
before me. I rejoice that my citizenship is in heaven. 1

Scripture:
“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders
he has done…. which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation
would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.
And they would put their trust in God and not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.”
(Psalm 78:4-7 NIV)
