Dream God’s Dreams For You
Here is something to think about now that we are in a new year.
What were your one-time hopes and dreams? If you haven’trekindled your dreams lately maybe you want to consider what Dutch Sheets reminds us:
“Your Designer dreamed dreams for you before you were even born, then skillfully wove them into your DNA as you were created, along with the ability to find and fulfill them. His destiny for you will be the sum of those dreams. The journey of life, then, is meant to be a dream quest; finding what your Maker has dreamed for you brings life’s ultimate satisfaction and should be life’s ultimate pursuit.” 1
The Bible has many references about various people who got specific directions from God while sleeping. God still uses dreams to help guide and or warn many people. There is no denying that!
But right now, I am not talking about images, thoughts, emotions, scenes we have while sleeping.
No, what were your deep-down hopes or longings to accomplish –the ones you believe God planted in you? Is it time to ask Him to stir those up within you again? To help you envision His plans for you to achieve them? Can you start planning ways to accomplish that destiny?
Mark Twain said, “Explore– dream and discover.”
The Apostle Paul wrote the Ephesians something we’d do well to meditate on:
“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21 AMP)
Consider what Jesus Himself said:
“Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find;]keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8 AMPC)
Prayer: Lord, help me to accomplish Your dreams—those You plan for me to fulfill. Bring the right ideas to me; the right people; the right finances; and guide me step by step as I strive to achieve those dreams. I ask in the name of Jesus.May He be pleased as I strive to do it, Amen.
Scripture: “And afterward I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.Even upon the menservants and upon the maidservants in those days will I pour out My Spirit.” (Joel 2:28-29 and Acts 2:17)
